Calanget

These tribes are mostly composed of Terrace Dwarves, with some assimilated Hill Dwarves, Blood Dwarves, and Humans.

They dwell in the foothills that ring forlorn hidden valleys deep within the mountain ranges. The Calanget claim that it is they that taught local humans how to carve terraces in order to cultivate rice on rocky slopes. As impressive as the humans’ terraces may be, these dwarves’ put them to shame. In their homelands, these dwarves have created buttressed fields on sheer cliff faces with ornate and complex aqueducts feeding each paddy individually. They erect large stone idols of their gods around their territory to ward off evil spirits and unwelcome mortals alike. Anyone violating these boundary markers will be hunted down and killed. The terrace dwarves have more contact with outsiders than their mountain-dwelling kin and some even travel into human lands to trade. They are also known for their highly potent rice wine which is often aged for decades.

The Calanget share many customs with neighboring Fawi peoples.
