Wayurqu (way-ER-koo)

Nation in Yolotli

While Yolotli is home to many cultures, only the merchants of Wayurqu have ships capable of making the arduous journey across the Sea of Stars to distant lands. This monopoly on the bounties of their continent ensures that they are the most materially wealthy and technologically advanced of all of the Yolotli people.

The Wayurqu live in rugged mountains of the Sun Peaks and worship the sun as a god. Their largest communities span multiple peaks, connected by a complex series of rope bridges and simple hot air balloons. This great empire was once a nation of militarized expansion. However, as they grew to dominate their neighbors, they stopped advancing once they held the vast mountain range of their home. Since that time of conquest, they have fortified their borders and become the premier merchants of Yolotli. All while safe in their inaccessible highlands.

The Wayurqu pay their sacrificial debt to the gods largely by burning valuable items or casting them down from their sacred mountains. The Incas (nobles) of Wayurqu employ clans of Muki horned dwarves to supplement their ample trading with locally mined and smithed metals.
