Nefirot
Nefirot is a possibly fictional necrocracy and absolute monarchy that may have existed in the Late First Age of Waking Materia. It was allegedly ruled by the great Lichlord and Colonial God Nef, who after centuries of loyalty to his sister Nir, broke away from the leadership of Nireau. When this occurred is obscure, but likely in the late 1900's or early 2000's I.M..
Speculation
While there seems to be enough serious agreement in contemporary Nireauan commentary that Nefirot existed, no one seemed to be quite sure where it was or what it got up to, thus putting the city-state into the awkward historical state of being "semi-mythological". They were all relatively consistent it was a strict magocracy of great arcane power, however this could simply be surmised from Nef's known methods of rule when he reigned with his sister over Nireau. Most agreed it was a remote, island nation discovered by Nef on his frequent reconnaissance missions. Any further clarification may still be missing to archaeologists, and such evidence is highly sought after in these circles.
Several scholars wondered whether Nef had gained access to the interior of Stargrave and thus made a safe headquarters there, as proven possible by The Dragon Knights of Tallarax a century earlier. Others believe him to be the same person as Zaffa the Idiot due to similarities in appearance, ability and the oddly similar timing between Nef's defection and Zaffa's appearance; this may suggest Nefirot was in or near regions of Alanthan'aravaut now thought to be Voidward Khayyam.
