Gideon Ophrah
Gideon Ophrah was born to a no-longer-noble Cinoan family. In an attempt to ensure him a life worth living, Gideon was sent away at a young age to the Monican Hermitage, where he was separated from the world to study and pray. While Gideon never grew to know the ins and outs of modern society, he flourished as a scholar, earning a name for himself as an excellent researcher and practitioner of various forms of magic. Gideon became adept at navigating the complex web of church politics, if only to get the permissions he needed to continue his research.
When The Living Saint Captain Amelia Smollett wrote to Central looking for a disciple, many were shocked to see Gideon volunteer. To the elf, the path was clear. Here was an opportunity to expand his studies and to see how the faith was truly lived compared to the high precepts espoused in the hermitage.
