Gothican Chapters

Chapters were formed as a way for humans to survive the merciless Vampire scourge of Gothica. While Gothica has no centralized form of government, Chapters provide oversight to local populaces. Each Chapter is responsible for their own well being, but may negotiate, collaborate, or wage wars.   Each Chapter has a primary goal, which defines their morals, priorities, and culture. The Chapters can be broken into three types: Lance Chapters, Reliquary Chapters, and Shield Chapters.   Lance Chapters are often defined by their conservative views on economics, life, and Hegira. These Chapters tend to despise the use of Archeotech and Artifacts. Often selling such items to Shield and Reliquary Chapters for supplies and coin. Of the three types of Chapters, they are the most prone to battle against Vampires and other Chapters. Lance Chapters often focus on the complete annihilation of Vampires within their vicinity.   Reliquary Chapters are a fine line between Lance and Shield Chapters. The usefulness of Archeotech and Artifacts is not lost on said Chapters. Knights from Reliquary Chapters can often be seen with Artifacts or Archeotech from exploration and conquest. These Chapters collect as much Archeotech and Artifacts as they can, often locking up cursed items they may find   Shield Chapters are entirely devoted to research. Shield Chapters may not contain the strongest of knights, but pride themselves in intellect. They primarily focus on Vampire/monster biology, the environment and life cycles, the best ways to kill everything, the wild folk, etc
