Enchanted Metals
Enchanted metals are found all over Ka'a'. They come in three main forms; Tapictacarre, Poiwishtcarre and Poacatlepilecarre.
Properties
Material Characteristics
When metallic they appear as silver-grey cubic crystals. When liquid they are similar to mercury. Another odd feature is their internal temperature; these metals give off an internal temperature of 20-25°C and feel almost lukewarm to the touch. Tapictacarre is a deep dense grey color, Poiwishtcarre is a silvery-blue color and Poacatlepilecarre has a strange greenish tinge uncommon to the other two.
Physical & Chemical Properties
These three materials exhibit superconductivity at operating temperatures above 0 °C (273.15 K). They have a unique magnetic field and properties of superconductivity, causing them to levitate in magnetic fields.
Geology & Geography
Rivers, mountains, rocks
Origin & Source
Billions of years ago, when the tectonic-plates of Ka'a' were condensing, a massive comet crashed into the still molten lands. The land's nickel-iron core was disrupted. The high temperatures and pressures produced far exceeded anything wrought by technology. These forces interacted with the intense magnetic fields and created conditions suitable for the formation of these metals.
Life & Expiration
703.8 million years
History & Usage
History
These metals were first discovered and exploited by the Overlords thousands of years earlier.
Discovery
It is said that the Comanches have been using these metals for centuries, before the Overlords.
Everyday use
Although rare, it is not uncommon to find blades and guns fashioned out of these metals.
Cultural Significance and Usage
These metals have for centuries been treated as gifts of the gods. Some even consider these metals to be the flesh of the gods themselves.
Refinement
Hazards
These metals are toxic to people and are expensive to mine. For mining operations all personnel are required to wear a breathing-suit, which is very cumbersome.
