Diamond Guard

Guards of the Selfish

Used primarily as a protective layer for the wealthy tradesman and nobility of the Bridge Way Monarchy. The Diamond Guard is an entire arm of the Monarchy military dedicated to keeping the rich from having to deal with the working class or thrall class of denizens.

Composition

Structure

A sort of government-mandated mercenary guild, the guard work for silver, and loyalty to their nobles. Once hired out under several-year contracts entire squads of Diamond Guard are under the command of tradesmen or nobles. Completely dedicated to their protection and well-being.

Training

Pulled from other divisions of the Bridge Way Monarchy military. The guard is made up of experienced soldiers who show a keen eye and unquestioning loyalty to the noble and trade cast. While some of the guard are kind-hearted, their training works to weed out those of gentle or forgiving nature. Leading to the guard being brutally efficient.

History

Evolving from the guards of the original king, they have grown in size as the other factions grow. Once Fields Union defeated We of the Sand, and the Copper Mount Militia was founded after the exodus. The Bridge Way Monarchy  saw a need for a privet military force to defend their various holdings. Creating the Diamond Guard to train loyal platoons of soldiers so that every major holding would have a fighting force of their own. Deterring assault from outside the region which is important as their actions have drawn the ire of both Fields Union and the Copper Mount Militia
