Lampadniks

The Lampadnik Faction is a clandestine and influential group operating within the political and social fabric of Dragonrock. Informally led by the charismatic Grigori Popov, this faction is a coalition of powerful boyar families, each contributing to its strength and influence. The Lampadniks, often referred to as "The Keepers of the Flame," hold sway over various aspects of life on Dragonrock, using their collective power to advance their interests. They are becoming increasingly violent as the cold civil war on Dragonrock heats up. They are opposed to the Kynaz Bench, the boyar families loyal to the Kynaz.

Structure

The Lampadniks have an informal organization. There is no ostensible leadership besides Grigori Popov. The movement indcludes the Belozersky, Repnin, Gorchakov, and Galitzine families.

Public Agenda

The Lampadnik Faction's ostensible agenda is to preserve and enhance the traditional values of Dragonrock. They view themselves as the guardians of the asteroid city, protecting it from external influences that they perceive as a threat to its cultural integrity. Popov and the boyar families collaborate to promote policies that prioritize the interests of the native inhabitants, often at the expense of non-human races and those who challenge the status quo.
The Lampadniks employ a combination of political maneuvering, economic leverage, and subtle coercion to achieve their goals. They often use their control over key government departments to shape legislation in their favor. Popov's stirring speeches and public appearances serve to garner support and rally the populace around the Lampadnik cause. In recent times, the boyar families are in a state of cold war with retainers and associates fighting each other in the streets. Frequently, gangs of Lampadniks and Benchers--the term for people part of the Kynaz Bench--are broken up by the streets before fights can occur. Occasionally, a deadly brawl ensues that even the streltsy can't contain.
