Session XII: Hippo's Can Into Space Report

General Summary

Interrupting their breakfast, the party greet an old shipmate or captain: Zaufanie Giff. After discussing how he survived the pirates, Zaufanie tells the party that he found a ship with an eccentric, though nominal captain who needs competent bridge officers to make the ship run smoothly. The party agree to come aboard. 
In coming aboard and touring the ship, the party encounter Captain Ertaz Bellweather. The bedraggled captain yells a lot, welcomes them aboard, and then goes into his quarters. Garlith inspects the ship and finds that there are some areas that do not make sense and should be larger than they seem from the inside based on how they look from the outside. Darius finds that the rigging is the only thing on the ship that is new while the rest is unkempt. Garrakas encounters some crew among the lower decks. One crewman is openly rude and their living quarters are squalors. 
While travelling to the Rock of Bral, the party encounter a Neogi vessel. Upon engaging the ship, the party quickly man the guns. The Neogi's returning salvos knock out one of the cannons. Executing daring manuvers, Faddius brings the other side's guns to bear. By that time, the Neogi ship comes within 60 feet of them, reaching out with its boarding limbs. Faddius is unable to shake them loose and the Widdershins is locked in the Neogi's clutches.
