The Pirates of Pittance
The Pirates of Pittance are a notorious group of spelljammer pirates in Realmspace who are known for their flamboyant style and musical prowess.
The Pirates of Pittance are led by the Pirate King, a charismatic and cunning captain who always wears a feathered hat and carries a rapier. The crew is made up of skilled sailors, musicians, and actors who are always ready for adventure and plunder.
The pirates' ships are painted in bright colors and adorned with streamers and ribbons, making them stand out in the vastness of space. They are known for their daring raids on other spelljammer ships, but they also have a reputation for being honorable and respecting the pirate code.
The Pirates of Pittance are not necessarily feared by many people in Realmspace, but certainly despised. They are known for their for their impromptu musical performances that often take place during their raids. Any survivors or ships that surrender must listen to their performances of banal and overly catchy tunes. Long after a visit from the Pirates of Pittance, victims will have their minds invaded by the songs the pirates sang.
The authorities in Realmspace see the Pirates of Pittance as a dangerous threat to order and security. The Elven Imperial Navy has tried to capture the Pirate King and put an end to their pirate activities, but so far, the Pirates of Pittance have eluded capture and continue to roam the stars, spreading cringe and chaos wherever they go.
Backdrops
Encounters
As the ship drops out of jamming speed, the lookout can see an immensely colorful galleon approaching. A flag with a skull and crossed flutes flies from the main mast, a broad red pennant at the mizzen. A series of booms, sounding like the percussion section of an orchestra, sound, and bright sparks cascade in the air before the ship. Music and singing can be heard as the ship barrels ahead, straight for their quarry.
The objective of the Pirates is to bloodlessly take over the ship and loot it.
