Battle of Glorianus

The Battle of Glorianus was a fierce battle of spelljammer ships that took place around the moon of Garden called Glorianus. The battle was fought between the Imperial Elven Navy and the New Scro Confederacy.

A routine patrol of three Elven man o' wars spotted something that hadn't been seen in Realmspace in over 100 years: Scro mantis ships. The Elven ships hailed them and told them to turn back out of Realmspace. The Scro ships refused, stating peaceful intentions. The elven ships assumed battle stations and the Scro followed suit.   The elves deployed in the classic bull horns formation in an effort to draw the Scro into a boarding action so that they could use superior maneuverability to move away and attack the Scro at range. The Scro huddled together and advanced in a close formation.   The Elven ships were prepared for battle and quickly responded with concentrated volleys of ballistae fire to the helms. The Mantis ships were not evidently equipped with their usual compliment of Blade fighters and returned fire. Rather than driving in with their boarding arms, the Scro stood off and tried to attack at range. The battle was intense, with both sides trading blows and casualties mounting on both sides. The Elven ships were able to destroy one of the Mantis ships, but suffered heavy damage in the process. The remaining Scro ships were able to regroup and continue the fight, but the Elven Navy managed to outmaneuver them and destroy another Mantis ship.   The battle continued for several hours until the final Scro ship was forced to retreat. The Elven Navy emerged victorious, but not without suffering significant losses.   The IEN required reinforcements since all three ships had damaged helms or slain helmsmen. The Scro of the destroyed ships were able to get aboard the remaining ship.   It is possible that this is the beginning of the Third Unhuman War. Word has been sent to Evermeet to consult the Elves as to what will be done. No one knows what the Scro will do next.
