National Republic of Urunkhar
The National Republic of Urunkhar is a nation founded in the aftermath of the Great Argoan War of 145 - 168 PB. It contains the lands held directly by the crown of the old Grand Knyz of Urunkhar, but largely holds no influence anymore in it's former feudal dependencies. The nation is deeply religious and largely theocratic, with the nation practically being run by the Church of Cherbor.
The Cherborian Regime
With the total reformation of the state after Sviatavich in 6 AE, the monarchy would be abolished and a new structure would form. In this new structure, the nation would be led by a church ordained Vozhd, who would hold absolute power over all matters of army and state with exception to matters of law, which would be overseen by the Church of Cherbor. The executive power of this government would become the army. With a large, loyal and well disciplined group of employees the army oversee the upholding of the law as well as the proper enactment of new ones, although they don't have any mandate for the creation of those laws. Vozhd, Church and Army stand side by side here in the new system; the Three Swords of Urunkhar. In general, the policies of the state can be considered to be isolationist, religiously fundamentalist and revanchist. The Zavoyevaniye
As the nation lost nearly all feudal dependencies after the crisis of the putch, one of the primary goals of state is the reconquest of those states. In a move that surprised many analysts continentally, the nation would not do that in the direct way if combat as they were expected to, instead taking a slower, more strategic approach. Lost lands to the south, occupied by independent Urunkharian warlords would over the course of 50 years carefully be economically infiltrates to join in closer ties with the motherland, to the point where as of now they are economically so dependant on them that they are practically puppet states. Two of these states fell this way, nearly taking a third state, Nunulga, as well if not for a popular Syntecratic revolution swiping that hope away from the Vozhd. For the old colonial holdings in the east things would not go so bloodless, as bloody wars were fought against their former colonial overlords. When these lands finally were reannexed by Urunkhar in 94AE, the troubles would only increase for the defeated natives. As the Church demanded piety to the Cherborian pantheon as a prerequisite for citizenship, the mostly Misan people of the east were asked to convert. When the response was an armed uprising, the Urunkharians answer was to simply accept their non-citizenship. With one stroke of a pen more than 3 million people were officially marked as nationless, outside the protection of the law and even as invasive pest animals. What followed is an ongoing event known as the Misan Genocide, as Urunkharian troops occupied the towns and patrolled the forests, pillaging and massacring any native present with an incredible amount of sadistic playfulness, no matter the victims be man, woman or child."ⵟⵔⵒⵜ ⵉ ⵒⵔⵓⵜⵙⴹⵜⴰⵜ" "Otets dlya Naroda, Bogi dlya Ottsa."
