The Gift of Corellon

The Gift of Corellon, often shortened to "the Gift", is a soul bound affliction that is bestowed upon birth, that allows people with it to control magic within the rules set by Corellon.

He implanted magic so that only those given the Gift at their birth could master the arts of magic. These individuals would get a mark on their soul, the so called Giftmark. People without without the Gift could never learn magic themselves, but still can be affected by it or in very rare circumstances be given the ability to channel mana by others magic.
