The Swift

A long-ruined invention of The Sul'at League recently repaired by the people of Beacon. The Swift, as the closest translation puts it, is a system of connected teleportation devices, beyond anything yet developed by the people of Khorvaire.
The Swift makes use of a series of terminals, spindly metal archways surrounded by orbiting, gyroscope-like rings. By touching a glyph at the peak of the arches, some 4m in the air, a terminal connects to one at the hub, both filling with a quicksilver-like liquid, which then surges up to consume and teleport anyone standing within the rings. 
The hub itself is located on the Barrier Island, and is needed intact to use any of the terminals. The hub's terminals can be calibrated to any other repaired site, and used to travel there nearly instantly.

Utility

Teleportation between fixed points; while in disrepair and with unbalanced energies was lethal to use.

Manufacturing

Unknown method of manufacture - involves the Su'lat planar generators.

Discovery

By the first settlers of Westport, following unknown clues, and then by Cornelius, Zellandria, Diiroehn, Verusa, Hettie, Elanora and Forge, during their expedition to the site.
