Cornelius A. Lamity

Cornelius Annabelle Lamity is a very rich and flamboyant Gnome collector. He is the benefactor behind Dashiell Investigations (he has a special infatuation for Dashiell) and hires the Adventuring Guild and Thieves Guild often to retrieve items for him to add to his collection.
He hired several adventurers to bring back the Orb of Erised (Waully, Sunny, Edzork, and Gizmo). They ended up bringing him a broken replica of the orb supplied to them by Shissa of the Thieves Guild, claiming that the orb broke and lost its magic. Through his gift of divination, he learned about this trickery. He respects their entrepreneurial spirit, but is displeased with not having received the Orb.
He gave himself the name C.A. Lamity due to his macabre fascination with the Calamity. He doesn’t necessarily want it to happen, and would never do anything to make it happen. But he does believe the Calamity to be inevitable and finds it to be intriguing. Nobody knows his original name except for him.
He is rich enough that no amount of gold seems to be troublesome for him to spend. He has connections with all of the Guilds of Truth or Consequences, and many magic users and interdimensional beings, such as devils and fey, whom he often makes deals with. Through these deals, he’s also accumulated copious amounts of the currencies necessary for dealing with these types of creatures (ie. soul coins, memories, etc.) He isn’t forthcoming about these dealings, but doesn’t try hard to hide them either.
