glacial pony

A smaller breed of horses with shaggy coats and a hearty resistance to cold and wet conditions, bred originally as cart horses and miniaturized over centuries, resulting in a short-legged and strong horse with a surprisingly cheerful disposition. "Cackling ponies," so named for their wickering neigh, are smart enough to deliver carts without a human rider to direct them. They are still used for supply deliveries in the Snow Barrens, as they are less susceptible to the cold than other cart horses.
