Ageing

The races of Etroah do not live as long lives as other D&D settings.   The longest lives of Elves and Dwarves extend to around 200 years. Humanoids who live longer than this tend to become detached from society and withdrawn and start to feel a calling which moves them away from the mortal/material plane. They become more eccentric and obsessed with craft, magic or study. This means older humanoids are unreliable, odd and tend to not care about current events. they tend to isolate themselves, and then often just leave for somewhere else and never return.
Elvish long life is a bullshit myth, it's mary sue propaganda to peddle the idea that elves are superior.
