Frosthelm Mountains

Tall and Icy mountains on the northern border of Westfal Empire.
Amongst these are some of the tallest mountains in the world.   The area extends for many miles to the North and borders with the The Northern Realms   
Conditions up here are extremely harsh, but there are rumors of primitive tribes dwelling among the valleys.  For whatever reason these tribes have kept themselves apart from the Empire and the Northern realms.  And this area is too remote for either power to trouble to bring them under their wing.  These tribes are fierce and strong:  They need to be in order to survive amongst the other creatures who have made the mountains their home.
Under the tall mountains is rumored to be an extensive kingdom of the Dwarves.  The only known outpost of this kingdom near the Empire is the hold of Frostfast.  There are rumored to be more of such holds in the northern passes of the Frosthelms.
