Westfal Empire

Westfal Empire - A decrepit feudal empire to the South West of Varangia. The Empire is in a state of decline. The Empire is led by a council of Barons who have the power to elect a new Emperor The Empress is currently Hellaine De Lors The Empire is composed of semi independent city states and Baronies.

Population is mainly human, with notable minorities of races in particular areas. The Spiney Isles have a high population of high elves. Wood elves often drift north from Sudderland Forest . The area around The Fold is the home to many halflings. The Mountains to the north and west have larger populations of dwarves. Outsiders (called Farcasts in the local dialect are often looked down upon.) Religion: The official deity of The Empire is Serenrae. There are churches to this god in almost every settlement.
Some other religions are reluctantly tolerated Notable Locations: Old Varangia An ancient and ruined city rumoured to be part of a now extinct Drow empire. The Mire: A vast swamp near the coast. It is reputed to be the home of an inbred population and dark creatures abound there. The Empire has always struggled to keep it under control.
Verdant: A rich and successful Barony which often Rivals Westfal City for power in the region. It is located on the largest island in the Spineys and its population includes a large proportion of High Elves. Unique for the empire this City State is ruled by a council of elders who share the Baron title.
