Salty Cider

A speciality drink, popular in Feratt, and sold in the Orcs Head Inn.
This traditional drink is rumored to have been invented in a drinking game at the Orcs Head Inn. A fabulous oceanic island drink called T'Koola was being consumed on this occasion, a drink which is traditionally consumed with a pinch of salt and lemon. Once the spirit ran out, the drinkers had built up a thirst for this, and started taking salt with a wide range of other drinks. Several bets were made during this time! However a bizarre and somehow amazing combination was stumbled upon, when salt was taken with the local sour cider.
These days Salty Cider is very popular with drinkers around Feratt. It is an acquired taste, with some Farcasts never understanding it, but locals swear by it.
The most popular brew is made by Marcus and involves a secondary fermentaion of the cider with a locally sourced rock salt added. The rock salt is mined in the mountains outside Feratt, and has a lightly sulphurous aroma. Again totally bizarre in concept, but somehow it just works.
The cider is strong, sweet and sour. Hard to stop drinking once you start, as drinking it actually makes you thirsty! Cunning landlords often give a first glass to drinkers for free, knowing that once the drinking starts, they won't be able to stop for the night.
