Schrabwald is a major coaching stop on the Imperial highway between Bogenhafen and Ubersreik. The town is a rather forbidding place and it is said that it sits in the shadow of Castle Drachenberg and the threat from the Great Enchanter who once lived there. Consequently the locals are notably preoccupied by fatalistic and cynical philosophies about the castle and the enchanter himself.

Districts

Waterfront District

This district is situated along the banks of the Upper Tahme and hosts the town's main docks and trading posts. Warehouses, taverns, and inns line the riverbank. Stevedores and huffers work this area, ensuring a smooth flow of goods and people along the waterway.

Wassermühle Row

This stretch of the river is controlled by the Harvester's Guild. Originating during the era of Trott rule, a series of robust water mills labor to refine and process the abundant grain yield.

Market Square

The bustling heart of trade in Schrabwald, stalls and shops sell all manner of goods. A shrine dedicated to Rhya stands in the middle of the square as a symbol of fertility and harvest.

Handwerkers Quarter

This district is filled with workshops and artisans producing the various goods needed for everyday life. Blacksmiths, tanners, bakers, and other craftsmen work here.

Gilded Lane

This small area is where local nobility and wealthy merchants reside. It features well-maintained apartments and homes, the largest of which is the family estate of the Ostervorbergland family.

Points of interest

Flusswache Tower (Watch Tower)

Located on the southern side of town, Flusswache Tower is the oldest building in Schrabwald. Riverwardens and state troops make use of the structure to keep an eye out for incoming danger.

Enchanters Shadow (Tavern)

A tavern and coaching inn located in the centre of the town. It is said that the ruined towers of Castle Drachenfels can be discerned from the windows on the upper floor of the tavern on a clear day and the inn could be said to be situated in the Enchanter’s Shadow.
