The early days
Cancer, earlier known as Mikhail, was a child born in a country that was constantly at war.His first memories reach the times when he helped at the frontline by carrying supplies.
The sight of death and the smell of gunpowder were his daily life.
The boy never knew his parents, but the soldiers of the front were his family. During peaceful times, when he was eight, he was sent to the countryside school to learn.
The peace lasted six years, and when fourteen-year-old Mikhail heard about war breaking out again, he wanted to go back to the frontline as soon as he could.
However, his teacher, who was like a father to him, asked him to stay, to end his education, as the frontline wouldn't change with just one more soldier.
Two years later, when he finished middle school, he couldn't wait for any longer.
So he left everyone that cared about him and went back to the battlefield.
The awakening
Ten years later his country was falling and he and his squad were ambushed.Every one of his team was killed and he retreated into one of the houses and filled it with explosives.
His enemies knew where he was and they were closing in and he wanted to take them with himself.
That's when the Cancer and the Moon chose him as his champion.
The Moon let him see the positions of his enemies and to distract them.
The Cancer fortified the walls around him.
So when he detonated the explosives in the building, only the room he was in was still intact. The same year his country surrendered and was torn by its greedy neighbors.
But he didn't feel anger or grief as he would years earlier.
Instead, he went to another battlefield, going from one conflict to another.
ZODIAC
Fifteen years before the Extinction, he has been invited to join the ZODIAC, a mercenary organization that would take part in the greatest war in the future.He joined them as one of the prophesied "twelve heroes" (The Prophecy). He was the oldest member of the ZODIAC. But when the ZODIAC was needed the most, they disappeared.

Whenever Cancer stays in one place for a longer time, everything around him gets sturdier.Wooden things get as hard as metal, the doors, and their hinges get reinforced, glass acts like it is bulletproof or blastproof, and foundations and walls can resist explosions.
