Personal history

Rita was born to a family of lizardfolk. She was very gifted as a child in many ways, magic being one. She grew up in a very wealthy family in Cryptanthia where she was encouraged to study at the Manaweaver Academy. Her parents paid for her to go to the academy and she studied there for 8 years before becoming a teacher there. She studied Abjuration and Illusion in her first 3 years, Enchantment and Evocation in the next 3 years, and in the final 2 years she trained to become a teacher of Abjuration. She is currently Head of Abjuration at the Manaweaver Academy and has been a teacher there for 35 years.

She studied and boarded at the Manaweaver Academy. Her parents didn't want to move to Maghammer to be closer to the school so she lived at the academy and came home for holidays. She was a top student and received top grades in her year.

Mental Trauma

Her parents weren't very emotionally available to her when she was growing up. They were very caught up in their status and wealth. She used her time at the academy as an escape from the fact her parents didn't care about her as much as other families cared about their children. They had very high expectations of her and she found the pressure very intense and hard to keep up with. She struggled a lot with her mental health as a teenager, and often found unhealthy coping mechanisms until she realised she couldn't keep doing this into adulthood. If she wanted to be a teacher she needed to be stable. She distanced herself from her parents and is now a lot happier. She sees them for a couple days during holidays and she finds this a lot more bearable. Despite her physical and mental scars she is grateful for what her parents gave her; an education at the top school of magic. It may not be a lot, but it's better than nothing.

Morality & Philosophy

She is very loud and bubbly and extraverted. She is a very strict teacher and values discipline highly; you do not want to get on the wrong side of her. She is very happy with her life as a teacher and loves that she gets to help young spellcasters reach their potential. She's very passionate about abjuration and it really helps the students get more invested in the subject as it's hard not to when you're around her. She's a favourite amongst the 3rd years.

Rita loves to work out and read in her spare time. She really enjoys teaching and is loved by her students. She is, however, one for discipline and she will take no nonsense; she is a very strict teacher but as long as you don't get on her bad side, she isn't at all scary.
