Winter Games
The Winter Games is an interschool's sports competition where select students from Evocation, Divination, and Illusion courses, who are in their 2nd or 3rd year at the school, compete in duels to find the Winter Games Champion. Only magic from these 3 schools can be used.
Execution
3 students from each school and each year are chosen to take part in a battle to find the Winter Games Champion. These students are nominated by the headmaster himself based off a mix of grades, potential, and courage. Students have 1v1 battles where they cast spells against each other until a student is prone, unconscious, poisoned, knocked out of bounds, or they admit defeat. These are heavily moderated to avoid serious injury and medical treatments are on hand.
Round 1:
9 matches, each match is ranked and lowest scorer out of the winners is out. Unbiased judges rank each performance based on courage, skill, and stamina. This way every student who took part, win or lose, gets feedback on their performance.
Round 2:
4 matches, winner of each match goes through to the next round.
Round 3:
2 matches, winner of each match goes through to the next round
Round 4:
1 match, winner of match is Winter Games Champion
