Seaport
The bustling seaside town of Seaport holds host to many festivals, and is known for its fresh cod. It acts as the trading hub for the region, with access via sea to all other towns and cities, as well as a thriving farming community. The town centre is constantly booming with locals and tourists, who visit the market stalls, selling fresh produce everyday. Pubs, Taverns, and Inns litter the main street, making a tidy profit off the tourist population.
Demographics
The Salties are mostly Human, however they are tolerant and acceptant of tourists of all species, as well as the locals that differ from themselves. Due to the just and fair Mayor of the town, wealth is evenly distributed and very few go hungry. The majority that thrive here, are taking full advantage of the tourism, by going into hospitality professions.
Defences
Seaport is surrounded by wooden walls, which stand just over 10ft tall, this is one of very few defenses. The Vault, a bank which contains much of the city's wealth has stone walls, reinforced with steel bars, to ensure the safety of the city's livelihood. Eight guard towers surround the city, with archers keeping a lookout, constantly scanning the meadows, farmland, and fields for orc raiding parties, and other prominent threats.
Industry & Trade
The inhabitants of this town rely on the bustling tourism for their income. Most work as barkeeps, farmers, shop keepers, and fishermen. Seaport is one of the wealthier towns in Whitehearth, due to the reliable nature of the visitors. The trade of fish and produce throughout the rest of Whitehearth provides supplementary income during the colder months when the visitor population dips ever so slightly. Due to the lack of technology present in seaport, things such as metal ore, stone, and other more advanced exports are not produced.
Infrastructure
The Vault is a large bank, heavily guarded. There are taverns and inns a plenty, alongside shops and market stalls. Windmills, granaries and plenty of farmland is built and managed by the governing bodies themselves, in order to ensure a prosperous future for the Salties.
Assets
Months worth of food for the whole town, as well as a sizeable sum of gold is stored within the vault. The marketplace, and harbor are constantly handling fine silk clothes, gemstones, and spices, just to name a few valuables that pass through the city
History
When the town was first built, it was known by a different name, which has since been forgotten. After the Flood of Fire, the city was burned to the ground, much like most of the continent. Many years later, a group of humans known as the Rebuilders, travelled east to see what had become of the ancient town, only to find nothing but ash. Inspired by the fertile land, and the prime location, the rebuilders got to work creating the busy tourist destination the locals love and enjoy today.
Tourism
Whitehearth's most popular tourist destination, many a traveler comes to rest and recharge at the taverns, inns, and pubs. The market stalls are full to the brim with fresh produce and fish, as well as exotic spices from faraway lands, and many other rare and desirable products. The black sand beach is flat and shallow, even at high tide, making this a popular swimming spot for tourists, and locals alike.
Architecture
The houses of seaport take advantage of the abundant supply of wood granted by the redwood forests to the north. The city is almost exclusively built from redwood. The deep blue roof tiles that atop most buildings , are made from thin sheets of sea slate.
Geography
Seaport is relatively flat, and sits directly behind the black sand beaches that draw the eyes of tourists and locals alike. Tall basalt column cliffs line the beaches, blending land with sea, and providing a home for an assortment of seabirds, ranging from albatross, to common gulls.
