House Tenevine

Protect and serve... for a price

I can assure you that I know nothing about House Tenevine or their inner workings. And even if I did, I would know better than to answer questions in the open.
— Albertus Protacius, suspected informant

Domain

Like all Noble Houses, Tenevine has a section of the Empire that is strictly theirs. In this case, it is the enforcement of the laws of the Empire, and the protection from threats both internal and external. They find those who break the law and imprison them, as well as those who seek to disrupt those in power. Another aspect, though vehemently denied, is keeping several sets of watchful eyes on any potential enemy of the Emperor, be they Noble, commoner, or from the Free Worlds.

Crime

The bulk of Tenevine's duties focus on crime, specifically crime in the cities of Ilysium and Olympus. Some times their agents are called out to investigate some issue in the colonies, but this is rare. This aspect of their duties requires the most cooperation with other Noble Houses, from the Wyrmsange judges who define who they should be pursuing to the Sentisund captains who can chase down ships as they try to escape justice.

Protection

Though this rarely requires the actual nobility that run squads of enforcers, House Tenevine can be hired out to protect anyone and anything, for the right price. Though in theory they are still lawmen first, and will not protect illegal actions or criminals, in reality this too can be negotiated. They will tell you that they have never worked, and will never work with any Oathbreakers, or members of the Trade Union, it is much easier to find single officers who would consider it.

Information

This section of Tenevine's workings is much more hidden than everything else, but spies have been caught on both Sayles and Nokte that prove that Imperial agents working undercover have some ties back to House Tenevine. It is possible that they work with, or control, the Imaginary Guard, who seem to function in a very similar role. Another posibility is that these spies simply said whatever they could to get the interrogation to stop. It is impossible to know for sure.

Enforcers

Informants

Detectives

Tasks & Functions

Enforcers are the basic peacekeeping job. They are called in to arrest criminals, guard what they are hired to, and rarely, break up fights.
Informants are a much more informal job. All they are required to do is blend in, often taking a second job, and listen to what people are saying.
Detectives are the job that requires the most training. They are called in to find criminals and traitors that have so far evaded capture.

Methods & Tools

Enforcers are equipped with heavy-duty insulated plate and sparklocks. Some units are given blades. Violence is not neccesary for their job, but it is often used.
The only time informants are ever given resources is when they are watching over someone important. In those cases, they are lavished with whatever needed to help them fit in.
The tools of a detective vary greatly from individual to individual. However, they all take a similarly great care in assessing information as methodically and logically as possible.

Alliances

House Tenevine is likely the most secure House in the Empire. Not only do they provide a vital task and are well-liked by commoners, they also have several strong alliances. House Wyrmsange and Tenevine are closely entwined, and have been since the very start of their Nobility. House Avisong works closely with them for traitors and Sentisund works with them for external threats. The only House that Tenevine has some open conflict with is House Putrace, who have a habit of dealing with criminals on colonies they own without involving Enforcers, or sending them to any of Tenevine's jails.

Notable Families

Tenevine Family

The House head, the Tenevine family is mostly focused on the leading of enforcers. Almost half the officers that lead divisions of enforcers are part of the Tenevine family.

Corvinus Family

The Corvinus family owns and operates the prisons on both Ilysium and Olympus. These prisons provide a large amount of wealth for the House in terms of free labor without having to purchase slaves.

Procyon Family

This family does not seem to do much, but they are a large part of Tenevine's Anniversary of Nobility. As such, it is assumed that they control the intelligence arm of the House.
