Volo's Guide to Monsters

This thick tomb publication by Volothamp Geddarm is on its 9th edition and contains details on all manner of magical and mundane creatures one might encounter in the wild. The author, Mr. Geddarm, has gone into a great many details on the numerous entries in the guide, however, those who actual encounter the creatures contained within the pages, often find inconsistencies in the facts within. 
It is common to find most used copies of this book to have its margins filled with corrections and notes from the owner. Volo himself has been known to purchase copies of his own book back from individuals who have made such notes, to be incorporated in the next edition of the book no doubt.
