While Mystra is the dominant deity in Winderia, many religions are recognized and observed. Mystra and her church are rarely discriminatory toward other beliefs, though good and neutral deities are more readily accepted. Evil deities tend to stay underground, but they are not actively persecuted in Winderia unless their actions warrant it. The exceptions to this are the worship of Bane, Cyric, and Shar. Mystra still harbors a deep hatred of these three, who were the strongest allies of Quoros, Mystra’s vanquished rival for the portfolio of magic during the First War. Religion holds some importance in the daily life of the common people of Winderia, but no more so than anywhere else in Ao. Most citizens claim one deity as their primary object of worship, and many revere additional deities to a lesser degree.
