Azokalis Apius

The Blue Wizard

Azokalis Apius was a great wizard that lived from 5117 - 5522 2E. He is regarded as one of the most powerful human wizards who ever lived and was the second Count Wizard and the founder of the Order of Sunphler. He often wore bright blue robes that made him stand out from large crowds. In his later years, his skin would turn blue due to being near a small tincture of rhine. His students and colleagues would then call him adoringly, the "Blue Wizard." He had a powerful bloodline, with four out of the seven elemental magics being in his blood, those being earth, wind, water, and his most powerful element- lightning.

History

Azokalis was born into a rich and powerful line of mages that had quite a strong bloodline of elemental magic. Even from infancy, his parents would testify that small sparks would sometimes appear around the child, a sign of his strong connection with elemental magic. He would grow up in Roncria and learn magic from the best in the Roscrean Empire. He was also a pupil under the first Count Wizard, Jezux Nelecar. Azokalis would grow bored of city life, however, and begin an expedition into the Kenbarna Mountains with some of his closest friends to try and locate the lost capital city of the Kenari. He was ultimately unsuccessful and as punishment for doing such a foolish endeavor, his parents would forbid him from ever traveling to the Gnome Island- his ultimate dream to study their Ziji Magic. At the age of thirty, Azokalis would enter the stage of solidarity of a wizard's life and migrate south into the Ordxer Forest. There, he built in seclusion his very own tower, Tower Apius. He would reportedly study the wildlife and befriend some of the more intelligent species in the forest, such as the Fauns and Plaras. One legend states that during his time in the Ordxer Forest, his tower came under attack by a small band of orks from the south. Instead of retaliating, Azokalis invited them inside for tea instead. The bewildered orks came in and drank the tea, only to find themselves under the spell of Azokalis, who hypnotized them to think of themselves as mountain goats. Over several weeks he would use the orks to retrieve ingredients only found in the high mountains. He would also make several trips down south to the island of Beekon and study the magic of Throatduel with the Far-Seers.    In the year 5302 2E, Azokalis would be contacted via messager and was informed about the death of Jezux Nelecar and was invited to be a comparator for the title of Count Wizard. Azokalis would accept and travel back to Roncria, where he underwent several trials, competing against his fellow wizards for the title. He would reportedly come out "easily victorious" and be dubbed as the next Count Wizard. An adoring fan of his was the promising student, the dark elf Valmanus Fenned. Azokalis would rule justly and handle all magical affairs within the empire with great care.    Order of Sunphler     In the year 5445 2E, Azokalis would help in the efforts to destroy the Pactoemis, a powerful relic that was capable of capturing the Four Changes and wreaking havoc anywhere the wielder chooses, but also to corrupt their mind over time with each use. The Pactoemis was eventually found, but Emperor Opum upon seeing the relic, elected not to destroy it, but to use it for the Empire's benefit. Azokalis, fearing the worst of the Opum Dynasty's corruption, began writing contingency plans on how to destroy the relic and hit them across Roscrea so one day, someone could destroy the relic and free the Opum Dynasty from its control. Azokalis would meet his end right before the Eighty Year Internagnum when he was executed by the Dlarn family after he refused to recognize their stake for the now empty throne.
