Church of the Coleopics

Responsible for both tending to the lands and its people, the Church of Coleopics, otherwise known as the Order of the Beetle, were founded on the blief that all things in life need be concern with the other. Their values stem from the first teachings of the Dragon Ealdua, Dragon of the Hest, whose body provided the first home for those of the Hestria. Followers are often seen dressed in the armor of their chosen spirits, and warriors doubly so.
I was traveling through the desert aboard the most peculiar form of transport I had ever come across. In all my years of traversing the lands, the many different men pulling ricshaws in the streets of the great cities, the creatures of the dark that one must comune with in order to pass through the Dark infested lands of Smulllg. The terrible Grugleeeescree, a beast with a thousands eyes, one nose, two mouths, and a series of seats set into its back. But none come close to the work of the Church of Coleopics Hestrian Sand Worms. .

The church, from my understanding, are the founding figures behind the second strangest cities I've seen. Members of the church are inately talented with the art of communing with creatures. The Desert Hestria has a number of societal cities along the backs of great beetles the size of, well, city bearing creatures. Massive limbes shift through the waves of sands that lap against their massive chitinous frames. Their occassional calls cry to those of a similar statue, beasts of the same size with people along their back. The church communes with the beasts, infers their intentions, and makes sure that the society survives along their back. Their warriors defend the cities and creatues from the many horrors that traverse the sands at night.

Culture

People that follow the church of the Coleopics values few things above all else. Unity, Cooperation, and Defense. Those of the church work to protect the cities and villages. Those not living on the backs of the Giant Beetles work to prevent attacks from the desert sand worms and other beasts that hunger for flesh. Small villages built around springs, oasis, and waterways are nearly required to have a member of the church trained in the art of communing with the beasts of the sands.
