Night of Blood-Drenched Rain

A massive uprising engineered by Countess Odette Marceline, the Night of Blood-Drenched Rain saw a massive magical ambush of Duchess Lisette Levay's stronghold.  Spirit Hall sinks into the bayou

As soon as she was appointed, Countess Marceline started working, under orders from King Meilge, to secretly build power for a strike against Spirit Hall.  Meilge solidly denies any connection to this event and Odette has never implicated him.  However many powerful fae wanted Duchess Lisette Levay removed from power.   From 2006-2008 Odette raised and trained a guard that was on par with a wing of the Willow's army.  She also incited a great deal of commoner resentment and anger towards Lsiette, with everything swelling into a bloody conflict that swept through the bayou just before Samhain in 2008.  The armies ambushed Spirit Hal;l during one of Lisette's large fetes.    In response Lisette locked the gates of Spirit Hall and sank the freehold and it's inner grounds deep into the swamp, taking anyone she could - friend or foe - down with her.   Spirit Hall sat, hiding beneath the muck and tainting the bayou for a decade before it was sought out again.
