Pelisso Swamp
An unhealthy, tropical marshland on the north coast of Hepmonaland that few explorers have braved.
The unhealthy, tropical marshland on the north coast of Hepmonaland is known as the Pelisso Swamps. Few explorers have braved its depths, thanks in part to the Scarlet Brotherhood's blockade. The salty marsh is itself filled with carnivorous plants and giant reptilian and amphibious creatures, including numerous black dragons, presumably all descendants of one very old dragon matriarch that dominates the region. Several ships have become stuck in very shallow rivers here, leaving much wealth here (or so it is thought). It is also home to many exotic birds and insects, whose feathers and chitin would probably fetch good prices if they could be exploited. The flora is similarly said to be exotic and dangerous, with carnivorous plants and huge flowers, pitcher plants, and giant ferns standing twice the height of a man and more.
