The many rivalries between the folk of the major islands were exploited by foreigners for centuries. Nomadic locathah roam the shallows between these isles, vying with local fisherfolk for productive waters; they also serve as mercenaries in regional conflicts. The climate here is temperate due to unusually warm ocean currents.
