Biography: It is likely that Utinni was born in the Kingdom of Celene, though he spent nearly all of his life living among the trees of the Welkwood. He was raised by a small order of wandering druids, composed primarily of humans, who cared for him in a practical manner and saw to his basic needs. These years spent among these druids naturally led him to be trained in their ways, but they never spoke of how he had come to be one of them or who Utinni's actual parents were. As the years passed, so too did the druids of the order, and they did not replenish their numbers. As the last of them died off, Utinni traveled east towards the Domain of Greyhawk to see what the wider world had to offer. It was in the small mining town of Diamond Lake, east of Greyhawk City, where his path to power truly began.
Utinni was a member of the now famous "Diamond Guard" that became involved in the battle against the minions of Kyuss, the imprisoned worm-god who sought to return to the world and bring about the prophesied Age of Worms. Upon this quest, Utinni's abilities flourished, but there are some who believe he paid a terrible price to his sanity.
Now, the self-proclaimed "Avatar of Chaos," has embarked on a campaign against the bandit lords along the northeastern region of the Nyr Dyv. His claims are that this is being done at the behest of his friend Caine Blackhand, the new Lord of Alhaster and Prince of Redhand, but the means in which the druid has employed to accomplish this has raised serious concerns among those who once viewed him as a hero. There are tales of the druid assuming the form of a great red dragon and laying waste to swathes of the countryside where the "bandits" are encamped. Minor earthquakes and great floods have also been reported and the Avatar of Chaos has been cited as the cause. There is fear among those who knew Utinni best that the elven druid has lost his grip on reality as a result of the terrible things he experienced in his many conflicts against the agents of Kyuss. It has also been confirmed that Utinni was briefly in possession of the Hand of Vecna, reinforcing fears that the archdruid might have exposed and corrupted his mind to the will of the Whispered One.
