Over a century ago, The Inquisition determined that to be more efficient at their duty, they must themselves evolve to become more deadly. They concocted unstable mutagenic compounds that were administered to one of their own. At first, the change was impressive, many times stronger and faster than other mortal men, this Inquisitor showed promise from the effects of the potions. It wasn't until a sudden mutation that he warped into a hulking monstrosity and killed nearly all Inquisitors within the deep secret cave. Just barely was it able to be sealed withing those deep halls. Until 1632, when it was slain, and the secret was buried along with it.
