The Soothsayers

The order of Soothsayers were founded in 1344 by Godfrey Teclis, a wandering sage born in a small village on the coast of Corair. A natural in the arts of magic, he claims to have been chosen by an ancient deity that could not reveal itself to the world of mortals. Nonetheless, he was a wise man and led many a young knight errant down the path to true honor and righteousness. The Soothsayers are a resource that any citizen can visit to seek council with, whether its a decision whether to plant a new crop, or if there is an alternative to a coming war. They are reclusive hermits that sit within their tower known as Sithewind Redoubt, studying ancient chain clad tomes, written by Soothsayer sages over the centuries. The current head of the order is Pontus Mercy, a crippling elderly dwarf wise beyond even the oldest of elven lords.
