Tree of Remembrance

The tree is an ancient species of oak from the Sleepwood in Alamor, called an Everoak. It stands twenty full grown men wide and thirty meters tall. It is always in fall bloom, of the deepest reds, oranges and yellows. From its branches hang small golden shields bearing the heraldry of individual knights that win the tournament in June. Hundreds of these shields sway in the breeze, glistening forever. It is an unprecedented honor to have your shield hanging on the tree, for it is a terrible crime for it to be touched by even the Duke or Duchess once it has been hung. It is protected and up-kept by the Soothsayers.
