Ash Sea

The Ash Sea is located between the Empire proper and Saman, touching three countries and two continents. It is a fairly warm sea, with very high salinity. It is host to many sea mammals.

Phenomena

The Ash Sea is known for its incredibly high salinity and thus its incredible bouyancy; it is also very cloudy, gray the color of ash, giving it its name. The high salinity can cause problems for ships and boats, especially smaller vessels that can be lifted nearly out of the water and become easily susceptible to capsizing. The lack of visibility can also conceal dangers.
