Lost Oasis of Raesandel

Geography

This paradise is hidden deep within the Del'Rae Desert. This oasis is created from a once ancient river that flows underground due to all the desert sands. The trees around this oasis are not like any typical oasis. The trees here are the remnants of the ancient Raesandel Forest. It also has a deep cave system that travels down into a small picturesque grotto. This is the very oasis that is the basis for The Lost Oasis myth/legend.

Ecosystem

This oasis has an abundance of life. It is full of various fey creatures and even some ancient dinosaurs. The life cycle of almost every creature living in the oasis is dependent on each other. Even with the Ancient Brass Dragon Eldenser "Hilda" living within its boundaries. Creatures in this oasis understand the balance of life and can almost resemble nature itself. This oasis has also been blessed by the Goddess Natrine, and one of her followers, Fylandris Grovekeeper, resides from here.

Localized Phenomena

With the help of the Ancient Brass Dragon Eldenser "Hilda," the oasis stays hidden. When traveling in the desert, a person could travel weeks and never find any sighting of this oasis. That is partially due to the multiple illusionary spells cast around the edges of the oasis. This is meant to keep the balance of the ecosystem in check. Also, to prevent any outsiders from corrupting Eldenser "Hilda's" home.

History

This oasis is derived from the events that transpired in the year 160 with the Vow Tangible. When the great capital city Arpyneaketh was destroyed in a blink of an eye. The Del'Rae Cactus ruptured out of the center of the ruins. The cactus started draining all the nutrients from the Raesandel Forest. This caused a massive desert to form. When the forest was truly gone many years later, all that remained was the Lost Oasis of Raesandel and Oasis of Life out of Death. After the oasis was formed. It was discovered by Eldenser "Hilda," and she made it her home. After making it her home and she tended to the oasis. Here Eldenser "Hilda" made the discovery that the oasis never died. She concluded that it was part of the ancient Raesandel Forest and was closely connected to the feywild. The material plane and the feywild become very close in this region. So this interested Eldenser "Hilda," she started to travel into the feywild and brought back creatures to help populate the oasis.
