Temple of Dainu

The Temple of Dainu is the official religious organization dedicated to the Mother of Summer within the Weald. In addition to a theological focus on Mother, the temple specializes missions of healing and plants. Working with the lay-population, it funds and staffs hospitals, hospices, botanical gardens, community gardens, orchards, and granaries. It also manages schools for physicians and apothecaries and has some involvement in funding scholarly work in the area of natural philosophy. Lay people who train in medicine generally are devotees of the Mother, although runewitches, bards, and military medics are common exceptions to that rule. In other nations, sister temples to the Mother goddess (such as the Cedonian Temple of Isekhmet or the Ibran Temple of Ceres) also oversee psionic magic. This has never been a focus of the Temple of Dainu, but there's currently some discussion over whether and how that could be accomplished.
