Typhon

Typhon is the Major God of Time and Morality. He resembles the real world planet Saturn. On the gaseous body of Saturn is a sinister face with a cartoonishy evil twirling mustache. Extending from the body are a giant pair of scissors, a syringe, and the serpentine neck and head of a dragon. A halo floats over Typhon’s body. Typhon is said to live in another realm known simply as the Pandemonium, a place of evil and chaos inconceivable to the mind of mortals. He occasionally pays visit to his wife, Gaia, in the Doldrums. A lover of pottery, many ceramics and idols are made in Typhon’s honor. Typhon’s rule covers two very different domains, which is unique for a Major God. It covers aspects like time—the past, the present, the future, years, days, hours, time dilation, etc.—as well as morality—good, evil, ethics, neutrality, loyalty, etc. These two concepts have been linked by the people in the world of Wagakeya for millennia. In the real world, we might think of this link as coming from observations that good people become bad over time, and bad people just as easily become good over time. The passage of time can lead to change in values, beliefs, and behaviors that can change somebody’s moral alignment. To Typhon’s most hardcore followers, time may be seen as the medium through which morality is born.   Typhon’s hellish and surreal Pandemonium has captured the minds of many philosophers and mages. The demonic fiends that are said to escape Pandemonium into reality, and the various horrific ways in which they unleash chaos and madness onto the world, have inspired the creation of many unique spells. Clerics who worship Typhon specialize in the Arcana Domain, Clockwork Domain, or occasionally the Death Domain. These clerics tend to dip into darker and less-accepted practices than other clerics. They often care less about a person’s physical health and more about a person’s ethos. A good cleric may try to actively improve the moral standing of their contemporaries; an evil cleric may try to lure others to the dark side with every word. In addition to clerics, many warlocks swear fealty to Typhon.   Typhon himself is very cruel, but believes that goodness must exist in order to balance evilness in society. Followers of Typhon often embrace his evil but follow strict moral codes of conduct. They tend to gather in cults, circling around a burning statue of his symbol and calling for his evil creatures to bring balance to the good of the world. These cults are tightly knit, strict, and typically do not accept outsiders. What they cannot achieve with their own magic and prayers, they have paladins do instead. Paladins who follow the words of Typhon tend to be Lawful Evil. They wander the world serving their cults and trying to make it easier for demons and fiends to execute the will of Typhon. To these paladins, goodness is a plague that is safe in reasonable quantities but has spread much too far across the world.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

Typhon strongly believes that the world needs to have an equal balance of good and evil beings. To that end, because he sees there as being too many good individuals in the world, his disciples often scheme to equalize the world in evil's favor.
