Kalti Reketiyai
Raatora Kalti Reketiyai
Kalti Reketiyai maintained a daily journal throughout most of his life. His detailed, often emotionless entries give ample insight into the life of a Wlitowai military officer. His final journal, recording his adventures into the mystical landmasses to the west, were a particular treasure.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
The Reketiyai family had a reasonably-sized villa in Tereta alongside the wealthy elite of Wlitowa. Having considerably less wealth than their neighbors, the large clan maintained the facility, the daughters taking care of the indoors and the sons tending to the fields. It was an expectation that every member would contribute their fair share. It was a shock to the family, then, when Kalti left to join the Wlitowai military. The family at first thought that he would return after roaming the world for a year or two, but the Tuhran Wars soon put an end to that notion. He was gradually distanced from House Reketiyai, and would return sparingly.
Employment
Separated from his family as he was, he lost none of his work ethic while at the military academy. He concealed his family's poverty within its landholding status, and earned himself a proper role as a lieutenant in the Wlitowai military. Lacking the skills of nobility such as the ability to ride cavalry, he was assigned to a rather unimpressive battalion of infantry. His first engagement was the Battle After Marriage, where he distinguished himself in driving back the Tuhran foe. He earned medals and the favor of the king; Princess Ikata even put a hand on his shoulder as a commendation. Kalti would carry on as he was throughout the entire Tuhran campaign, down to the elimination of the last Tuhran guerrilla forces.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Kalti earned the Wyi of the Gold and Green, the Baton of the Valiant, and the Sigil of the King's Favor. Most practically, he was assigned leadership over the Retkokua Expedition. When the army was broken down after the Tuhran Wars, many of those who stayed were given exploratory or garrison roles. Kalti would not return to his family and so accepted the honor.
Failures & Embarrassments
Poorly supplied and overextended, Kalti's expedition would not return to its motherland. In a mad scramble for survival, Kalti wrecked his ship on an island off the coast of his target destination. He kept a detailed journal of his voyage until succumbing to despair himself. His journal would be rediscovered and published about a century later, cementing him among the annals of Wlitowai history.
