The Dorione Empire's quest for unification comes to a completion

The Kingdom of Gloomcroft just south of the Mudston Island Province and The Highlands Province was the last kingdom of man not to be unified under the Dorione Empire. King Cassus Barrone III just before his death began the conquest for the South to be unified with the Northern Provinces began an incursion into the reaches below.   Dubbed "The Grey War" by those who live in Gloomcroft, four years of bloody battles in the marshes of the South followed after the King of Gloomcroft died without an heir. The Dorione Empire succeeded in their conquest and the Knights of Holy Judgement banned the worship of a "false" deity worshipped in the South named "The Moon Mistress" or "The Red Queen." The blasphemers were stamped out and killed and the temples destroyed by the Knights.   Garrisons were placed throughout the South to keep the populace in check while Northern Nobles were given land and settlements in the South for their help with the war effort. This was a political move so as to prevent Southern Lords from uprising against the Northern banner.   This marked the start of the self-proclaimed golden age in the Dorione Empire.
