Torog, The King That Crawls (TORE-ogg)
Torog had always had certain worshippers in his quarter of the Underdark and even beyond. He was a powerful incubus in his own right, and held the ability to control swarms of rats, frogs, locusts, and more. Many cultures made offerings to him to curry his favor for the upcoming harvest. Similarly, it is even now believed that if one suffers a plague of animals or pestilence, it is due to displeasing Torog.
He was once handsome, and known almost equally for his sexual deviances as much as his wrath. However, this changed when he crossed Auriel, the Golden Lady. While no one knows exactly what he did to cause offense, it is generally believed that he attempted to seduce her using magic, which threw Auriel into a fit of disgust. She dubbed him the Rat King, and cursed him with the form of a were-rat. His brothers all suffered a similar fate, and in the magic of the name "ratking," it was not much time before all their tails became hopelessly entangled and began to fuse together.
Soon, his brothers forgot they were ever human, and became simply enormous rats, flanking either side of the stinking throne with menacing red eyes sticking out against stark black fur. Torog himself could still change back and forth mostly at will, although as his condition progressed, he found there were some parts which would not change - his twitching nose, spotty fur, and so on.
Obtaining food became an issue, and Torog had to demand all foods be brought to him and his brothers. However, not all the brothers made it - and upon their deaths they too were consumed. Still, through the tributes, Torog's frail form began to grow fat and his ability to move declined even further. This pathetic state is how he is now, and how he is most commonly remembered.
