The Obsidian Throne

An underground organization that dominates Celestia and Zaria's black markets. Acting as the main source for information, slave trade, narcotics and practically anything else anyone would desire. The currency used tends to be coins on the surface, but barter is often also accepted as more valuable, especially living humanoids for slaves, food, or experimentation subjects.
This is owned by the four Royal Daevata houses, with many other Daevata clans and dark magic guilds being members of it as well. As such it is the only organization known to the world which utilizes the horrifying Soul Coin as a common currency due to the Daevata often utilizing them as sources of energy for various experiments and spells.
The only way for one to claim they hold rank or status in this organization is to have the symbol of the obsidian throne, pitch-black magically tattooed into their flesh generally between their shoulder blades or lower back. Above this throne is then the tattoo representing their current rank, as found below. Any member of the organization can sense the magic of this tattoo on another member, and the ranks of Fang and Thorn are even able to use it to magically torture members of lower rank if they displease them.

Ranks

• Splinter: The lowest rank of the organization, though they still tend to be individuals that run entire thieves guilds within some villages and towns.
• Shard: Second highest in rank, Shards tend to organize several Splinters that they keep in check and are notable individuals within large cities or capitals.
• Claw: Generally viewed as the 'Commanders' within the organization, they hold significant rank and generally there is only a single claw within every nation of the world.
• Fang: The key assistants to the Thorns, often the highest rank one can ever desire within the organization unless they are born into one of the four Royal Houses.
• Thorn: A rank reserved for those whom have reached the inner circle of the organization, directly working with the heads of the four Daevata royal houses.
