Civinkans (Sihv-ink-ahn)

Civikans are the sapient species native to Civinko that look strikingly similar to eels and come in a large variety of colors. While Civinkans look very similar in silhouette, it has been known at biologically females often have warmer-toned colors and males have more cooler tones. They also have six very thin arms with three-fingered hands. This helps them move to and on land, as while they have the ability to maneuver on dry land like a snake, prolonged land travel dries up their otherwise smooth and slippery skin.   Naturally, Civinkans are very friendly and social, and can often be found within polyamories, as they (Much like Sapiakas) have a deep connection related to all forms of love, forming marital bonds with multiple partners and creating exceptionally large families. Civinkans are very attached to their loved ones as well, meaning that any negative experience one member faces quickly turns into a large group effort.   Civinkans are omnivorous, however, their diets usually consist of more meat than vegetation from the stark lack of plants. Almost all consumable plants are either foraged or in artificial plots of soil made for personal gardens while the majority of non-sapient animal life on Civinko is domesticated and used as livestock.   Civinkan technology is advanced to just around what is compared to the 2000s age of human technology. Most of these advancements have gone towards finding longer-lasting "land-suits" so they can spend longer exploring space. Most of their space-traveling machinery is foreign and in very few quantities so owning a space-faring vehicle (especially for leisure) is extremely uncommon.   While not unionized yet because of the lack of space-faring technology, the Civinkan government follows an almost anarchic democracy. Divided among households which usually expand into the size of towns and villages. Each group of settlements governs themselves and each other. The lay of the land, therefore, differs depending on the settlement.   Overall, Civinkans are quite wealthy. A little under what is considered the average in typically wealthy planets, but it's still up there. This wealth is helping Civinkans advance faster, however since all Households abide by their own rules, there is a slight divide between the stages of development of each settlement.   When Civikans do gather and form larger groups that consist of multiple households, it is often for militaristic purposes like defending their territory from aggressors. Combined, their military strength is still somewhat weak because of the developmental divide between groups. While small groups can be more of a threat, the larger numbers of Civikans weigh down the average strength thanks to their diverse technological advancements, creating a sense of unpreictability.
