Pulova

Pulova is a small country in the North-West of Xon. Pulova is a largely agrarian country, with about 95% of the population involved in agricultural work in some form. It is the second largest exporter of nanitegrainthing, only being surpassed by the much larger and more populated country of Seya.

CULTURE

Hardwork and perseverance are the core values of the Pulovian. Having self-sufficiency and pride in ones work are also common themes. While independent, Pulovians do have a strong sense of community and are more than willing to help out their neighbors during difficult times. The is no stigma in asking or needing help.
Pulovians can be fairly set in their ways and stubborn. Somewhat distrustful of outsiders/foreigners, though rarely outright hostile.
They take pride in their appearance, and dress in clothes with intricate designs and embroidery, as well as having deligent hygiene and grooming rituals. The home is for family, and things associated with working and farming (eg. dirt) are not permitted in the home. Most Pulovian households have a shower detached from their house, and will go there and use it prior to entering their homes.

Dress & Attire

Even despite working in the fields for hours, Pulovians are adamant about appearing ‘presentable’ and well-kept; if you’re gonna sow crops all day long, you might as well look good doing it.
Standard dresswear for both sexes usually starts with a base of white or black (or both) and incorporates a rainbow of colours in intricately woven patterns and designs. Children are taught how to make and repair their own clothes as young as 5 years. In their downtime, many Pulovians will sew and add to their current wear.
Clothes for working are loose and allow freedom of movement and are detailed. For special occassions, ceremonies, and celebrations, clothing is more form fitting and embroidered with greater detail.
Clothes with more detail and more intricate, clean, and meticulous patterns are associated with higher socioeconomic status. Jewellry is worn by all classes in moderation as to not detract from the design of their attire.

SELF DEFENCE FORCE

Being a small country, Pulova’s native defense force is fairly small compared to other nations.
Pulova has an agreement with the Comine Republic, that Pulova supplies them with nanitegrainthing first in exchange for part of their military. Most of the joint forces tend to occupy the South to West border.
