Magranda Forest

The Magranda Forest (Silba Megrānda, 'great forest'; Cathalonese Selba Magranda) was an expansive old-growth forest that existed in ancient times. It spanned much of what is nowadays northern Cathalon and regions of neighboring countries. About half the forest has been lost to deforestation. Remnants of the forest are considered dangerous to enter because of nature spirits that fiercely guard what remains of their homeland. However, humans (and even human settlments, such as Nevesi in the Forest of the Neveta) are tolerated in some areas so long as they respect the forest and its spirits.
