Bertraggen

Bertraggen was a larger town in the borderlands between the Twin River Lands and the Far Lands. Its main incomes were based on logging and fur exports towards the rest of the Realm, but due to its position off the main paths it was a poorer region of little importance.   Both provinces claimed that Bertraggen belonged to them and there were many disputes between the lord of Hundsted and Omarim over the centuries, with both sides demanding taxes and loyal service from the inhabitants of the saw called 'Hinterlands'. Yet most of the time the conflicts remained limited to council chambers since neither side saw the benefit in investing real resources to claim the region.     The duality of the influences from the two provinces can be also felt in the religious split in the regions. The church of the Child came with settlers from the Twin River lands and has an important temple in Bertraggen. While there is also a strong presence of worshipers of Caldys whose roots can be traced to the Far Lands. Some though say that on the outskirts of Bertraggen and the small villiages surrounding it a different cult can be found.
