Cerellis, Arch Mage of Transmutation

Cerellis bloodline wasn't as prestigious as other half-elves might have been able to claim for themselves. There was no one worth noting before him, but that didn't prevent him to become the archmage of transmutation at the University of Eversted.     He didn't shy away from using his elven blood to gain favours within the elkani society obsessed with elves. Cerellis only cared about improving himself by studying as hard as he could and used those favours to have doors opened for him that regular humans would not have gained access to. But he also proved to be a brilliant mind more adapt at understanding the weave behind the transmutation spells than even many of the elven mages.   Once at the head of the transmutation school of magic at the university, he spent his time furthering his research in less known areas in this field. He was known to every now and then even reach out to clerics of Caldis researching myths about their god's legendary lyncantrophy curses.

Cerellis was used to be surrounded by people that couldn't comprehend things as well and as fast as he did. Besides his own research he was also dedicated to help anyone who wanted to truely improve him/herself and thus he was used to patiently explain things, very slowly, for the average scholar to understand.

He was also driven by curosity when it comes to creatures, especially magical ones. He hoped to uncover the secretes behind some of their abilities and see if he can transfer them to other beings.

Like many mages of the university he was more concered with furthering the research than moral opinions about the methods. Understanding how the weave connects everything and how to adept it to ones needs will be more beneficial for civilization than abiding to simple moral concerns that change with the winds of time.     In earily 436 YoU he was willing to train Alvery Vestergaard and her half brother Keijo Artanis to help them understand their sudden magical abilities. The training didn't last long for Keijo and the archmage didn't get along very well while at the same time the young elf's abilities seemed to be quite limited and mostly under his controll. Alvery on the other hand showed higher potential or at least more power while combined with far less control. Their cooperation ended soon as well as Cerellis wasn't willing to research her abilities withou her full commitment to it. He demanded from her to be completely focused on this undertaking or he would not waste time on this. Alvery instead reached out to archmage Yrdessa who was far less involved and gave her a lot more freedom to persue her own interest.
